Just Like His Daddy

A couple of weeks ago we went to get the 3D/4D ultrasound done. There was much debate in our house about this because I REALLY REALLY wanted one and Brad didn't at all. He thought it would ruin the surprise of what the baby would look like. So we argued for 3 weeks and I finally won ;-)

I had scheduled the appointment for a time when the baby is "usually" active and off we went that morning. Baby decided to start being active about an hour prior and I tried walking him to sleep. Seemed to work. 20 minutes before the appointment I ate a doughnut (YUM!) and drank a soda to get him a little boost of energy for the appointment. He was moving and grooving until I laid down on the table. :-( The Ultrasound proved three things:

1. He is stubborn-just like his daddy

I like to call that one "no pictures please." It took almost 10 minutes of poking and prodding from the tech to get him to move his hand and this is the result:

"fine... but I am still going to sleep"

2. He looks JUST like his daddy:

3. He is Daddy's little boy already (sigh):

That smile came after daddy talked to him. I talked, played music, jiggled him, poked him and I got nothing! Daddy comes along and says just a few words and he gets a smile. After all I have been through for this little nugget! But, I would do it all again even if he is a daddy's boy. I am not going to lie...still gonna try and get him to change to team mommy once he is out ;-)Bwahahahaha

Counting Down the Weeks

I have 9 weeks left which is exciting and completely frightening all in one. I can't wait to meet my tiny little man and at the same time I am petrified that something will happen to him in there before then. I am not sure if that is a normal fear or if it is because of all I endured to get here. I try not to entertain it though.

I flew to Phoenix for my babyshower last week. I was really nervous about flying pregnant and alone since Brad chose not to go. The flight was just fine but man the trip was exhausting. I felt like I really didn't do a whole lot yet I was soooo stinkin tired!! The babyshower was good. We got lots and lots of things and I am sooo greatful to my family and friends.

Brad crashed my laptop while I was gone (GRRRRR) so we are waiting for that to be repaired to load pictures of the shower. So that will be another post. I feel like my posts have been so boring during my pregnancy. I really have tried to lay low, stay inside and rest a lot so there really isn't much to talk about I guess. :-(

Below is a pic of my good friend and I. She is expecting a little boy and is about 5 weeks behind me. I am much much bigger than she is...which I am totally ok with but I just think it's funny since we aren't that far apart!

28 Weeks!

I couldn't think of a catchier title than that. I am soooo tired. I went grocery shopping this morning and then came home and cleaned out the cabinets and fridge so there would be room for all the yummy things I bought. A trip to the grocery store used to take about an hour. Here lately it's taking about 2 hours and I am not sure if it's because I am slower on my feet these days or because everything looks so delicious! It's probably a combination of the two. Then I spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning because my Mother In Law is coming in on Tuesday.

My brain=Mush and my feet=killing me.

In other news, I failed my 1 hour Gestational Diabetes test. So off I go on Wednesday for the 3 hour. Nothing sounds more fun than fasting for 12 hours, getting up at 6am to go and drink some nasty stuff and sit in a lab for 3 hours. I plan to bring all of the things I have been saving for my pregnancy book. I guess it will be sort of like a baby book but about the pregnancy. I don't know what you call that. All I know is I have a pile of Ultrasound pics and things that I have saved that need a home.

One exciting thing that happened for the first time last night was that I actually felt the little man with my hand on my belly. I have been able to feel him kick me and kick my hand and all that fun stuff but this was like a butt or head or something that rolled across my belly right under my hand. It was so exciting. I just can't wait to hold him. But, I will for at least 10 more weeks. ;-)

I will leave you with some pictures. I feel really big but I don't look that big in the pictures. Or maybe I do? I dunno...I DO know that I am only going to get bigger and I am ok with that.

Nursery

A couple of weeks ago my mommy came up from Sunny AZ and helped me put together a nursery. It was such a great experience because she is so excited and she really wanted to do the nursery so I am happy she was able to help. Let me tell you my mom is a good decorator...had she not come out to help the nursery would look nothing like it does. There are a few more things that I need to get like a small bookcase, a mattress for the crib and a changing pad thingy for the dresser/changing table. Also the curtains need to be created (what you see in the pic is just fabric hanging). But you get the general idea at least.

and just because she is the cutest ever :-)

It's May

and there still isn't any sign of the sun in Nebraska. I am from Arizona and I crave sun. It's been an entire fall and winter and spring of no sun and now that summer is here I want some darn sunshine!! All we have had so far are a couple of semi nice days and the rest has been all gloom and doom and rain. YUCK!

In other news...the pregnancy is moving right along. I get to feel him move all the time which is so reassuring but don't be fooled people...I still do my fair share of worrying. I will be 26 weeks tomorrow. WOOT WOOT!

My mom came down..err...up from Arizona last week and we spent the whole week shopping for and decorating the nursery. I thought I would be really stressed doing the nursery this early but it actually was enjoyable. Until lately, baby things stressed me out a bit because I was just so consumed with worry and it totally sucked and I KNOW I will regret it later but I couldn't help it. After so long...it really is so hard to let go of the fear and just be happy. I think I am almost to that point though.

Pictures of the nursery to come another day but today I will leave you with some 24week Belly Pics. Hopefully you aren't blinded by my whiteness...like I said, there has been a lack of sunshine around these parts.
